I’m 36 years old and married to an amazing woman. Katie is beautiful, smart, and funny. All of which, if you didn’t know already, you will learn from our blog.

I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I’m pretty much a stereotypical engineer- introverted, always thinking, rational. One of my favorite ways to spend my time is problem solving. It doesn’t even matter if I never get to implement my solution; I just like to think about stuff. Some examples of things I “fix” are the US economy, politics, and sports.

I like to read, especially non-fiction.  If I read fiction it is usually a classic that I’ve never read before. Unfortunately, I’m not that fast of a reader. As a result I choose my next book very carefully, often spending over an hour on Amazon reading reviews and comparing books.

I love to go see new places. One of my favorite parts about traveling is getting to see/experience new cultures. Some of the cultures I’ve experienced are those of Mexico, Poland, France, Uruguay, Philippines, Great Britain, Morocco, Taiwan, Ireland, Hawaii, Jamaica, Argentina, and of course Kentucky. Traveling is something I plan to continue doing for (at least) the near future.

Socially, it can take me some time to warm up to new people. For some reason (some illogical reason that is) I am just not comfortable around someone until after we’ve spent some time together. But I really enjoy spending time with friends and family, whether that means cutting loose and relaxing or getting into an involved discussion.

I have spent a lot of time thinking about my beliefs and personal philosophy. While I’m not going to get into my personal philosophy right now, I would like one portion to be known up front. I do not believe there is one right way to live, or one right personality to have. I am very open to people doing things differently than I do. Nothing I post on this blog will be meant as an example of how you should live; your life is up to you.

My posts will be infrequent, and on random subject matter. I will write about things which I am not an expert in, it’s all just for fun.
